the seas...

been a while since i blogged... haha, busy busy! :( had a nice weekend really, not too tiring or hectic, but loads of fun. sat morning was tennis session! its like quite routine now adays... weather was scorching hot. and i turned all red and itchy... :/ but it was all worth it. had this really long and epic match against CM... which i won 1-6 7-5 7-5! sorry cm, i just had to put it here again... lol. well, was really satisfied cuz more often than not, i was trailing and thought i was abt to lose... so yeah, tough match... :) always feel tt this kinda matches make you more match tough... ;) yeah, after bumming in the house, went out in the evening to... glorious east coast! look at the skyline and the sea... boy do i love this place so much. i'd never move away from this area as long as i'm in SG... its just the closest you get to a nice scenery... :) plus, i've been ard this area, plus minus a few km along the coast since i was born... ;)

anw, was meeting wp, claire n nick for dinner, trying to meet up b4 wp left for aus again. haha, bree n mama py were part of our grp of six tt went melbourne together, which was incidentally when this blog was set up. its been soo long. got a photo of us under the huge tree on my desk... its really one of my fav photos. we look so small under tt tree... haha. but yeah, will never forget the rolling hills and pastures, the hearts we always play but mama always losing to me... lol. and the lovely nite skies... loved e starry nites... :) and the icy cold seas! lol... but crystal clear waters.. sighs... great memories...

yeah, dinner was at No Signboard Seafood restaurant. ordered a huge chilli crab, too huge for us to finish. lol. we all love crabs, but it was just too much. the drunken prawns i felt was truly the star of the table. it was unique and soo delicious... the yummy drunken soup... oooh. after pigging out at the restaurant, we took a walk past my house to siglap for dessert... the weather was just right... breezy and cool

yeah... after tt, as i was walking home... it was most amusing cuz the roads were filled with cars tt were all modified. even hondas and toyotas were vroom-vrooming away like weili's porsche. haha. louder even. so AA... grr. explains all the loud sounds at nite...

the next day was yuan's bday dinner. ate at some chinese restaurant with his mum, sis n bf, and cm. was quite amusing how i was chatting with his sis n her bf abt dota. they both love playing, n they decided they've to install wireless so we can all play. haha. and e bf was bemoaning tt they dun need to date anymore cuz she just wants to play dota. lol. first time i heard tt coming from a guy. the food was soso, some dishes not tt good - e super bitter coffee pork ribs was memoriable. i loved the orange sauce chicken though... unique! :) yuan's mum was commenting on how i looked more like a tennis star than a doctor. haha, at this point in time, i guess i'm glad. i mean, i dun wanna look old and haggard just yet... ;) wait till i need to look professional first la! and all the conversations of the dog was just hilarious. and... yh, yr mum said you were plump in the end... lol. tt was quite random and funny... LOL. HAPPY BIRTHDAY anyway! you're as old as me now... haha.

yeah, so now its back to sch i guess... boringness. bah. bah!!

of big houses, palms, palm tops and retarded rules.

laziness has taken over. been wanting to blog, but am just too lazy... look like a cooked lobster now. all thanks to tennis in the sun ytd. but really fun to play with pple i've not played with b4. andrew and marc... haha.

let's see. sunday went over to yj's house. a house to behold. yet another person who stays next to a minister, this time its the DPM. wow. the house is so huge, and the sofa in the sitting round, everyone just stared wondering, "is this for sitting?". yeah, it looked too nice. a huge projector screen, controlled by a mini lcd touch screen. his room so huge, with this curious panel on the wall. a light touch and it comes to life, music blasts from the ceiling. i learn tt its some advanced control system tt controls a lot of things, including the ceiling speakers tt play music from a central jukebox. interesting. haha.. one day, i hope i can live in such a house too... :) alrite, and on the loooooooooong walk in, walked past a creepy house. the trees ard the perimeter of the really huge plot of land were all numbered. peering in, one realises all the other trees inside are numbered as well. the house is old and deserted, there are 2 houses in the compound. it is overgrown, yet the dirt path is neat. all too strange. later, i yj mentions tt house, saying the police classified it as 'dangerous', and no one really goes there. hmmm.

yeah, caught 2 movies this week too. fearless and casanova. such different movie. casanova is actually rather hilarious. light hearted movie... :) fearless wasn't tt great, but still, quite good. quite hard to believe its a true story. well, certainly, the martial arts weren't like tt.

weili, ks, and me had our palms read in sch one day. it proved to be really insightful i felt. he was surprisingly accurate. weili was first up (i'm not gonna repeat what the palmist said abt the other 2). the palmist rattled off... within 30s, weili had a horrified look on his face. me and ks looked at each other grinning. we knew weili was horrified cuz what the palmist was saying was absolutely true. haha, he said, 'you think bloody too much... blah blah' LOL. priceless look. next was ks, then came me. mine was just a joke. he started off by saying i was horny. like wth.. *rolleyes*. then midway... he said, you like things done yr way. next time when you work, if yr boss doesn't do things the way you want, you wun be fired, but you'd go fire the boss. ha. then he proceeded to say many pple call me a spoilt brat! the nerve of him! haha. but sadly, tt was true. then he also said i'm the kind who'd iniate seperation and divorce (in contrast to weili who wun do tt). and he also said i've good pple skills, so i should do business, consultancy and political work... lol. well, i wanted to do the first 2... ;) ah, he also said other really nice stuff abt my future, which i wun disclose cuz i dun want anyone to be jealous... ;) lol.

and abt palm tops, or more like my atom. it bloody can't connect to NUS. spent so much time at the com center, they fiddled for really long, and failed to fix it. damn dumb. lol. wasted time. and i stupidly tweaked with the registry resulting in a crash. had to do a hard reset. feel so dumb at times... :/

anw, want to talk abt the stupid law they're enforcing - calling teenager's parents up if they're caught loitering after 11? like wth. what a dumb policy. what would other countries think of us? tt we are cold and frigid?! or we've terror kids? geez. i'm sure the most common crime they commit is like theft, which does happen when they're loitering. and pls, as if the parents wun know tt their kids are out at 11... how many 16 year olds dun stay with their parents. its like so what if u tell them? like they dun know their kids are not home. its just such a waste of resources, and a huge reduction of what little privacy and liberity our society has. i could go on, but i'm sure you can understand what i'm getting at.

ice mountain cake... spizza ... ... for friends

sat... yet another day of packed activities. need to plan time to study. haha, morning was tennis and i played well.. first time in AGES. yeah! hope tt i can keep it up... ;)

after tt i rushed over to jurong for ice skating with my classmates. wow, i managed to see the same woman who is promoting anticommunism and freedom of speech tt i saw in orchard on fri. she is sure passionate abt it. i really applaud her... haha. but anws, ice skating! i'm so terrible at it, and smart ass aaron kept cajoling me to go faster. bet he was hoping i'd fall... SO COMPETITIVE! tsk.. *shakes head*

yx was much nicer, tugged me along, luckily i didn't stumble and make her fall... would've felt so bad... lol. yeah, but the shoes made my feet hurt! :/ haha, and truly, i was afraid of falling. nick asked me why today... haha. well, cuz it hurts? duh. there was this old man with long flowing white hair tied in a pony tail, and he was skating damn fast... and then doing all those strange hand actions... looked like he was figure skating. really out of place in there... lol.

but sure, he was pro, as were many pple out there man. so were just mean... they skated fast near slow pple and made them fell! saw quite a few of those... :X ah well, but it was fun, though tiring. despite my bad balance... i didn't fall... well, till the end where i crashed into this girl and brought her down too... oops! anw, here are some pix of us... :)

hmmm, so after tt, we decided to head to mount faber for dinner - cuz of the glorious view, and all so new restaurants tt have opened... after waiting really long for hs... as usual, the diva, and comtemplating whether we should eat at tiong bahru plaza (i basically rejected every restaurant cuz i had sth similar the past few days!!)...

after her long awaited arrival, we took cab up. not before we forced claire and yx to leave so we could get the cake... ;) they gave a free rose with the bday cake, but i managed to persuade the lady to give me another... lol. she was getting chided by the cashier... lol. damn funny, then she said it was a rose another customer didn't take. aha...

yup, up mt faber we went. only to realise the restaurants were fully booked! sighs... such a wasted trip... :( the weather was so nice for dining... :/ so we caught a bus to haborfront and had spizza. we were so sad... :/ but of course, our wonderful company of each other made up for everything. spizza is so much nicer than pizza hut. so not going back there ever again. grrr. alrite, i'm too lazy to write much more abt how HS was practically spewing venom at poor pinchuan and aaron, abt how retarded they were... n ermmm, how we were trying to figure out what was on the edge of the margurittas at Harry's... sugar or salt? sugar??! haha. n yes, how hs curtly commented, 'tt's why he's a cab driver' when i mentioned tt e cab driver was being dumb. oops. all in all, quite fun, though mt faber was crap. kbox next time. :) PS: we were celebrating yx's n claire's bday. PPS: yx's bday is on the same day as enjun's. muahaha.

yeah, fri was great... after pract, went to town with em, ian n weili... well, energy levels were quite low - maybe its cuz of the tiring sch days... :p well, after meeting with them, went over to PS... had quite a blast with a few of the tennis bunch. haha, well, we've not met up in ages for tennis actually, cuz of busy schedule... but we met for dinner tt day.

it was sorta a bday dinner for me i guess, cuz i was treated to tao's restaurant... a 7 course dinner, and it was really good. ok, i'm not even gonna begin to try to describe the food, cuz there's just too much... lol. but u see the lil pot with a small cup? yeah... tt's actually fish soup! i actually had really good cream of pumpkin... surprised... :)


yeah, the home made green tea ice cream was really great, as was the fruit/flower bud teas... basically everything was quite good. the service was really great, as the staff were so friendly. was really a joy to be there... :)

after tt, we wanted to go minds cafe, but somehow, plans changed (cuz we were at paradiz n the sound of ktv was enticing)... but it was kinda ex, so we tried calling other places, and they were mostly booked... damn. haha. so in the end, we were headed to partyworld, as it was cheaper than kbox... but on our way, we got distracted by x-zone... so we settled for xbox instead... cheap and fun. :) had such a blast playing crash racing as well as harry potter!! laughed till my voice was hoarse cuz of silly things gary n sh were doing... :X

ah wells, too bad no real cam... O2's cam suz... :( my W800i had a better cam anytime... haha. alrite then, will update abt today's day tmr if i'm free. nite dudes. :)

movies, movies, movies...

haha, been watching more movies over the weekend. cm n yuan came over again on sat, n after i got distracted from reading any anatomy, we went out to watch north country, or so we thought. last min, we changed to match point, and it was a great movie anyways. quite an interesting plot, and in a way, the ring tt hit the railing n bounced back, well, i didn't know what to make of it, turns out to be a lucky thing. indeed, i tend to agree tt hard work is mandatory, but luck does play a large part in success more often than not...

after the movie, we attempted to watch chingay, but unfortunately, it was extremely crowded n we tried to watch bits n pieces or it from everywhere. really everywhere - scoured the whole of taka for a decent window to look out, then went along most of orchard road... lol. was really hungry, so had dinner, and we went arcades, and just walked round some more chatting away. haha, u r missed yihan! it'd have been great if u were here too... ;) oh, n finally, after we managed to find a nice spot to watch chingay, we concluded tt the disney land floats are better... :o

then on sunday, watched walk the line. compelling acting, really good... was really absorbing, made up for the otherwise rather predictable plot... :) haiz, really wish i had more time in my life... so many more movies i wanna watch, and books i wanna read. bah...

yeah, n today, after a most longwinded lecturer, whom i suspect doesn't know his stuff too well, went off for tennis. damn it. the rain kept coming in spurts. so we played, ran off, went back, ran off. yeah... so many times. haha, got a nice surprise call from yeehong n the rest of the dudes from SI. so nice hearing from them... i always talk a lil to each of them only! so sad... ah wells, hope i see them one day. nice bunch of pple tt made my life in army, much more than bearable... :) hope u guys r doing well... yeah. made my afternoon? :)

Good Night, and Good Luck

sch's just been a whirl... a whirl of blurness, slpiness and not knowing what's happening. it sucks when u're behind so much in work cuz u've only mugged 2 days the past month for less than 2h each time... n sucks even more when u miss lotsa lessons. i'm just not a morning person, can't function in the morning feeling groggy and all. i'm definitely a nite person, n not an after meals person... lol!

yeah, so after brain sapping tutorial + prac killer combo, went for a relaxing hairwash + cut, boy the guy really gave such a nice massage :) and yeah, collected the ray ban sunglasses i ordered for abt half price (compared to taka). the shopkeeper said it looked really nice on me, 2 thumbs up she gave! haha

tennis later on, hitting the ball a lil better, but still, no rhythm... :/ but anw, what i wanted to talk abt is this movie i just watched, Good Luck, and Good Night. its a really good movie i reckon. more of a documentary like type of film. rather intellectual, and really subtle. gets you to think a bit, and it helps if u have a lil prior knowledge on mccarthyism.

well, as i was watching it, i was commenting to cm tt i felt tt all singaporeans should watch this. see how we shouldn't be apathetic to what's happens ard us, even if its political or military affairs tt seem a lil out of our reach. its still relevant to us. and also, it struck me tt in a way, our media freedom currently, isn't even as much as in the 1950s in the US, during a time when tensions were high during a cold war. i really dunno what to make of it. hmmm...

and there also had to be a brave soul, who'd stand up to mccarthy and take him down. a catalyst. well, tt catalyst happened to be in the media circle, always a huge advantage. but he was risking a lot on the line to do what he did. really applaudable.

today, the danish minster said tt it has always had great ties with the muslim world. tt was its response to a cartoon drawn in their press tt angered muslims in indonesia. he said they wun apologize or do anything abt the cartoon cuz it would compromise on press freedom.

well, this short lil thing i wrote here, is obviously nothing much, and i'm just grappling at straws, n not putting my points across cuz i'm tired. oh well.

really miss literature n our diversity of studies in sec sch. 10 subjects, that's great.. we'd be so much more well rounded, unlike now. but guess we eventually must specialise. haha. anw, guys, lotsa nice movies to watch... go get them all! seems like many pple have watched brokeback mountain already... must be all the publicity its getting... lol
